Travel Information to Ratua Island

Location

Ratua Private Island Resort is situated in the northern part of the Vanuatu Island group, just off Espiritu Santo Island, the largest island of the Vanuatu archipelago. The resort is approximately 300 kilometres north of the capital, Port Vila.

Getting here by air

Air Vanuatu operates direct flights from Brisbane to Luganville, Espiritu Santo, Thursday each week. There are also daily connections from Port Vila offering access to Espiritu Santo. Port Vila can be reached from various cities such as Sydney, Auckland, Nadi and Noumea.

  • Direct flights to Luganville, Espiritu Santo, from Brisbane take about 2.5 hours.
  • The flight duration from Port Vila is around 45 Minutes.

Transfer to the Island

Upon arrival in Santo, our driver will pick you up either from the airport or an alternative location. From there, you will be transferred to the Ratua wharf. Guests will then be taken by motorboat on a 35-minute ride to Ratua Island.

Alternatively, guests can charter a flight from Port Vila and take a beautiful 70 min scenic flight which lands directly on Ratua’s private airstrip.

Ratua Island Airport

Ratua Private Island Resort has its own private landing strip, allowing guests to charter a flight directly from Port Vila. This option offers a beautiful scenic flight that lands directly on the resort’s private airstrip.

Upon request, the resort can organise flights from Port Vila or Luganville directly to Ratua Island. Additionally, Ratua Private Island Resort can arrange various excursions from Ratua to neighbouring islands such as Pentecost, Tanna, Ambrym and Maewo.
